The rules of the Lab.

These Terms apply to everyone who uses any part of AI Power Lab, including the free pathway, the paid web app, and any community spaces we host.

AI Power Lab is a learning environment and software product for people who want to build with AI. We offer two pathways for entering the Lab.

Free pathway. You give us your name and email and we add you to our community list. You get access to free workshops, the newsletter, and announcements. You do not get access to the paid web app.

Paid pathway. You pay through Stripe and create an account inside the web app. You get access to the gated features of AI Power Lab, including any tools, labs, and resources reserved for paying members.

Some features include community spaces. Conduct in those spaces is governed by these Terms and by our separate Community Guidelines.

The features available on each pathway can change. We will tell you on the site when something material changes.

You must be at least 18 years old to use AI Power Lab. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

You also agree that you are not on any United States government list of restricted persons and that you will not use the Service from a country subject to a United States government embargo.

Free pathway

When you choose the free pathway, you give us your name and email so we can add you to our community list and send you updates, workshop invitations, and newsletters. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Paid pathway

When you choose the paid pathway, you complete checkout through Stripe and create an account in the web app. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure
• Any activity that happens under your account
• Telling us promptly at builder@aipowerlab.xyz if you suspect your account has been compromised

One account is for one person. Please do not share your login with someone else.

How payment works

Payments for the paid pathway are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. You agree to Stripe's terms when you pay through their checkout. Applicable sales tax or VAT, where required, is calculated and collected by Stripe at checkout and shown on your receipt.

Recurring plans

If you sign up for a subscription, your card will be charged on the schedule shown at checkout (for example, monthly or annually) until you cancel. You can cancel any time inside the web app or by emailing us. Cancellation stops the next renewal. It does not refund the current period unless we say otherwise.

Refunds

Because AI Power Lab provides digital access immediately after purchase, payments are generally non-refundable. If you believe you have a billing error or a special situation, write to builder@aipowerlab.xyz within 14 days of the charge and we will review it in good faith.

Price changes

We may change pricing for new purchases at any time. If we change pricing for an existing subscription, we will give you notice before your next renewal so you can decide whether to continue.

When you use AI Power Lab, you agree not to:

• Break any law or use the Service to harm anyone
• Try to access another person's account, our infrastructure, or our private systems without permission
• Scrape, copy, or resell our content, code, or curriculum without written permission
• Upload anything that contains malware, illegal content, or someone else's confidential information without authorization
• Use the Service to generate content that harasses, deceives, defames, or sexually exploits anyone, especially minors
• Use automated tools to overload the Service or evade our rate limits
• Use the Service to train a competing AI product or model without our written permission

If you participate in AI Power Lab community spaces (including workshops, group chats, forums, and live sessions), you also agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Violations of the Community Guidelines may result in suspension or termination of your account.

We can suspend or close any account that breaks these rules. Serious cases may be reported to law enforcement.

AI Power Lab gives you access to AI tools and educational content about AI. To keep the Service safe and lawful, you may not use it to:

• Surveil, track, or profile any person without their lawful consent
• Impersonate any real person, including by cloning their voice, likeness, or writing style without permission
• Create non-consensual intimate imagery, sexualized deepfakes, or any sexual content involving minors
• Generate content intended to deceive voters, manipulate elections, or fabricate statements from real public figures
• Make consequential automated decisions about a person (employment, credit, housing, healthcare, insurance, education, immigration, or access to essential services) without meaningful human review
• Generate disinformation, scams, phishing content, or content designed to defraud
• Build weapons, malware, or content that facilitates serious physical harm
• Reverse-engineer the prompts, system instructions, or underlying models behind the Service

AI output can be wrong, biased, or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before you rely on it, share it, or publish it. Nothing produced through the Service is legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

What you put in

You keep ownership of the prompts, files, and other content you submit to the Service (“Your Content”). You give us a limited license to host, process, display, and back up Your Content so we can run the Service for you.

What comes out

AI Power Lab may use third-party AI models to generate output based on your prompts. Subject to these Terms and the policies of the underlying AI model providers, you may use the output you generate for your own personal or business purposes. You may not claim that the output was reviewed, endorsed, or approved by Soft Landing Company or by AI Power Lab.

The Service itself, including the AI Power Lab name, logo, written curriculum, video lessons, source code, design system, and brand assets, is owned by Soft Landing Company and protected by copyright and trademark law.

Your account gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own learning and work. It does not give you permission to redistribute or repackage our materials.

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

If you believe content on AI Power Lab infringes your copyright, send a written notice to builder@aipowerlab.xyzwith the subject line “DMCA Notice.” Your notice must include:

• Your physical or electronic signature
• Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed
• Identification of the material on the Service you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it (a URL works best)
• Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
• A statement, in good faith, that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf

We will review valid notices, remove or disable access to the material if appropriate, and notify the user who posted it. Users may file a counter-notice using the same email address. We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

AI Power Lab is built on top of several trusted third-party services, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), Kit (formerly ConvertKit, email marketing), Airtable (signups), Vercel (hosting), Sentry (error tracking), Upstash (rate limiting), and Google Analytics (web analytics).

When you use the Service, you are also subject to the terms of these providers where they apply to your account. We choose providers carefully but we are not responsible for outages or actions on their side.

AI Power Lab is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do our best to keep the Service safe, accurate, and online, but to the fullest extent allowed by law we do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

Nothing in AI Power Lab is legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. If you need advice, please talk to a licensed professional in your jurisdiction.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Soft Landing Company and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, even if we have been told that those damages are possible.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).

You can stop using AI Power Lab at any time. To delete your account, email builder@aipowerlab.xyz from the address on file.

We can suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, if we have a good-faith concern about safety or fraud, or if we are required to by law. If we end your access without cause and you have time remaining on a paid plan, we will refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis.

When your account is closed, your account record and the content you submitted to the Service are removed from our active production systems within 30 days. Encrypted backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before they are overwritten on the normal backup rotation. Certain records (payment and tax records, fraud and abuse logs, and content we are required to keep by law) are retained for the period required by applicable law.

Informal resolution first

Before filing any formal action, you agree to contact us at builder@aipowerlab.xyz and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally. Most issues get solved this way.

Binding arbitration

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and Soft Landing Company agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in Prince George's County, Maryland, or by video conference, at your option. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class action waiver

You and Soft Landing Company agree that each party may bring claims against the other only on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims.

Exceptions

Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration if it qualifies, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights.

Opt-out

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing builder@aipowerlab.xyzwith the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Prince George's County, Maryland.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

We are committed to making AI Power Lab usable by people with a wide range of abilities. If you encounter a barrier or need an accommodation to use the Service, email builder@aipowerlab.xyzwith the subject line “Accessibility” and we will work with you to find a solution.

We may update these Terms from time to time as the product evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date above and let active members know by email or inside the web app. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, that means you accept the updated Terms.
